The Organisation
Ngāti Whakaue Tribal Lands Inc continues to experience growth and is a significant contributor to the wellbeing and advancement of their lands and its people. Their objective is to safeguard and improve corpus lands, grow assets, build capacity and increase the wellbeing of Ngāti Whakaue.
The Role
Reporting to the GM, the essence of this role will provide critical support to property and commercial development initiatives of Ngāti Whakaue. Demonstrated expertise in project management, superior communications and strong relationship management skills are essential. A high level of cultural competency is necessary to effectively engage with Iwi, Key Stakeholders and Contractor workforce along with many Strategic Partners.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate development projects from conception through to successful outcomes.
- Draft and prepare comprehensive reports and business feasibility proposals for review
- Engage actively with Iwi, Key Stakeholders, Contractor workforce to foster effective relationships
- Undertake on-site management to ensure projects meet key strategic objectives
- Monitor and maintain budgets, workstream targets and timelines to ensure all projects meet commercial and financial objectives.
- Conduct independent research and articulate viable project opportunities
- Provide updates project progress, risk mitigation, and opportunities for value engineering or project improvement.
Essential Requirements:
- Hold or be studying towards a Bachelor’s in Construction, Project Management, Commerce or Business Management.
- Minimum 5+ years of relevant professional, business or industry experience.
- Demonstrated Project Management experience, ideally within Residential Property Development, Construction and/or in the Tourism sectors.
- Proven success in effective Relationship Management.
- Strong problem-solving ability.
- Exceptional communication skills – written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to work under pressure to ensure deadlines are maintained.
- Sound business & commercial acumen and the ability to deliver key project milestones.
As a well versed Project Manager your Health & Safety knowledge will be current in all construction work site protocols. Experience working with Māori organisations or Iwi based settings is preferred.
